In practice, many contracts we take on end up being “hybrid initiatives” combining a variety of our services into a coherent course of action. Broadly, we refer to our work in supporting such initiatives as “project management.” We begin with strategic planning, allowing us to define and prepare the execution of a specific set of tasks in satisfaction of your organization’s goals, and budget and time constraints.
We take on a diversity of projects under the umbrella of general project management, including everything from the management of accreditation drives in Quebec student associations, through financial and structural overhauls of complex organizations, to event and conference planning. Service proposals and agreements are structured precisely to meet the unique needs of your initiative.
An example of a project in this category:
You’re a cooperative grocery store with a mission to provide affordable food to a diverse neighbourhood. Recently, the business owners next door mentioned that they intend to leave their current location, freeing up their lease. Your members have always had a dream of expanding your cooperative and opening up a sustainable, fair trade café, but have to act fast to seize this golden opportunity.
We work with you to provide research about other coffee shops in the neighborhood, identify various business scenarios, and perform an analysis of similar initiatives in other neighbourhoods and cities. A strategy is implemented to collaboratively and professionally consult both local residents and your membership about project goals and needs. Through a formal, strategic research process and a complete feasibility study, we work together to identify risks and opportunities, culminating in a presentation to your members with formal recommendations and a solid business plan.
